Recorded crime is not a count of offences committed or of detections. CSO lifted Statistics Under Reservation in October 2023; Group 09 (Fraud) from Q3 2023 is public reports only; Group 13 in 2020–2022 includes COVID public-health incidents. Garda division and station series use current Operating Model labels (dropdown, not map polygons). Full caveats are listed below.
Definition
Recorded crime incidents: CJQ01 at State level and CJQ05 by Garda Region. Offence-type cuts apply. Recorded incidents are not equivalent to offences committed or detection outcomes. Garda regions are an overlapping geography system — not counties. CSO lifted Statistics Under Reservation in October 2023; pre/post comparisons still carry PULSE noise. From Q3 2023, ICCS Group 09 (Fraud) counts public reports to Gardai only — not total economic crime. ICCS Group 13 in 2020–2022 includes COVID public-health incidents (subgroup 136).
